Highlighting its amazing post-pandemic recovery, the tourism industry in the Maldives has continued to draw travellers from around the world with arrival numbers surpassing 900,000 in July 2022. The Indian Ocean nation is on track to achieve its planned 1.6 million tourists this year as it also celebrates 50 years since the beginning of tourism here. As per the statistics released by the Ministry of Tourism, arrivals from 1st January to 20th July 2022 showed an increase of 57.5% compared with the same period last year.
In the first half of 2022, India came out as the top source market followed by the UK, Russia, Germany and Italy respectively. For safe holidays in the Maldives, 4-star resorts on private island resorts continue to be an ideal choice; such properties like Holiday Inn Resort Kandooma Maldives not only feature stringent health and sanitisation measures but also let guests experience the best of the destination once more.
