Tourist Arrivals in the Maldives surpass 500,000 in 2023 – A sharp increase in interest for the tropical holiday destination

The Maldives has experienced an increase of over 20% in tourist arrivals so far this year – alluding to the already increasing tourism numbers around the world. Publicised by the national tourism ministry, statistics that have tracked over 1.6 million tourist arrivals over the last year, are now showing that 500,597 visitors have arrived as of 26th March, which could be attributed to the many kinds of tourist operations across the archipelago, such as the many family beach villas in Maldives.

This is an approximate increase of 22.3% over the same period last year – and it seems that the Russian demographic is the biggest contributor with 12.1% of visitors coming from the region. Closely followed by India at 10.5% and the UK at 9.1%, the 1,229 tourist facilities that dot the Maldivian landscape usually see visitors that stay for an average of 8 days, patronizing such luxury resorts as the Baglioni Resort Maldives in an effort to make memorable vacations and experience the tropical climate that makes the Maldives as popular a tourist destination as it is today.
