Tourist arrivals to Sri Lanka are expected to top 1.5 million in 2023 – Passing predicted tourist targets for the year

The year 2023 is proving to be more popular amongst tourists than expected for the island country of Sri Lanka. According to the UN World Tourism Organization, arrival numbers in May had reached 80% of pre-pandemic numbers, while earnings up until  August were estimated to have reached 1.3 million USD – including revenue from businesses situated outside of Colombo, such as the Araliya Red. 

Representatives from the Sri Lankan government, such as the Chairman of the local Tourism Development Authority went on to state that the targets set earlier on in the year were even planned on being revised – a good sign for economic reliants and businesses that take pride in being some of the best hotels in Nuwara Eliya, Sri Lanka.
