Travel Ban for 10 African Nations Lifted in Singapore – Safety Protocols Also in Place

In December last year, Singapore removed its previous ban regarding the entry or transit of those travelling from 10 African nations; this announcement was made by the Ministry of Health on 26th December 2021 and applied to South Africa, Lesotho, Botswana, Zimbabwe, Namibia, Malawi, Eswatini, Nigeria, Mozambique and Ghana. The ban was initially imposed after Omicron cases were reported from these destinations. While entry was allowed, travellers from those countries came under Category IV border measures and had to follow strict protocols.

Singapore has also begun to reopen its borders for international travel and of note is the launch of Vaccinated Travel Lanes with several countries; this has paved the way for quarantine-free entry for fully vaccinated travellers. The Lion City will expect to see an increase in tourist arrivals this year and continues to offer safe accommodation at properties like Grand Park City Hall; for those at such an SG Clean certified City Hall hotel, Singapore and its many attractions can be easily experienced as well.
