Travel Warnings to Qatar Following a Surge in COVID-19 Numbers – USA Issues Level 4 Travel Health Notice
The US Department of State issued a Qatar Travel Advisory notice on the 18th of January 2022 regarding the surging numbers of COVID-19 patients in the country. The statement warned citizens not to make any trips to Qatar in order to lower the risk of contracting the virus on foreign soil. As a world-famous tourist destination, this warning came as a hit to hotels like Souq Al Wakra Hotel Qatar by Tivoli that welcome tourists in numbers.
However, tourists planning to visit the country for sightseeing, shopping, dining or engaging in wellness at a spa in Doha Qatar could still travel at lower risk of contracting COVID-19, if they were fully vaccinated. This Level 4 Travel Health Notice included guidelines on travelling to Qatar, advising US citizens to follow necessary vaccination procedures, wearing a mask at all times along with special instructions on the steps to follow during the return journey to the United States.
