USAID and Sri Lankan Tourism Alliance Collaborate to Boost Global Tourism in Sri Lanka

USAID Sri Lanka and the Sri Lankan Tourism Alliance have launched a joint influencer campaign to elevate Sri Lanka’s tourism image globally. With a focus on sustainable tourism, the initiative aims to revive the country’s tourism sector, crucial for its economic growth. United States Ambassador to Sri Lanka, Julie Chung, announced plans to host top influencers from key tourist markets, showcasing the nation’s attractions. In September, Sri Lanka welcomed 75,222 tourists, according to the Sri Lanka Tourism Development Authority. This aligns with World Tourism Day’s theme ‘Tourism and Green Investment,’ coinciding with Sri Lanka’s push to enhance revenue via tourism. Sri Lanka boasts a myriad of scenic locations for travellers to experience. This initiative will make a positive impact on hotels in Passikudah, such as the opulent Amethyst Resort, and other resorts in the nation.
