Vesak Festival 2020 – The main Buddhist festival in Sri Lanka

esak is the main Buddhist festival in Sri Lanka that is equally enjoyed by the Buddhists as well as non-Buddhists in the country. Although Vesak is immensely colourful and eventful the other years, this time Sri Lankans celebrated Vesak quite differently, but in a very meaningful way.

The differences were quite obvious, but they all were for a positive cause. Without going for massive decorations, people had decorated their own houses with whatever the decorations they could make and they had also not forgotten to add the bliss of Vesak to their own shops and workplaces as well. Many luxury hotels in the East Coast of Sri Lanka had also contributed to this effort and many hotels the likes of Uga Bay had shown a keen interest in this too.
