In January 2024, Vietnam experienced a significant surge in international visitors, exceeding 1.5 million, marking a notable 10.3% increase from the previous month and a remarkable 73.6% rise compared to January 2023. This surge represents the highest level since the country reopened for tourism in March 2022, matching the figures seen in January 2019 before the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic. The Vietnam National Administration of Tourism projects this momentum to support the nation’s tourism industry, bolstering confidence in achieving the ambitious goal of hosting 17-18 million international visitors in 2024, many of whom can be hosted in luxury resorts like the Anantara Mui Ne Resort, one of the finer examples of a resort in Mui Ne.
South Korea remains the leading source market, followed by China and Taiwan, with European countries such as the United Kingdom, France, Germany, and Russia also contributing significantly to Việt Nam’s tourism influx. Looking ahead, international tourism is expected to fully recover by the end of 2024, with an anticipated 2% increase compared to 2019 levels, contingent on the pace of recovery in Asia and various socio-economic factors.
