Vietnam Shifts Focus To Cultural Tourism – More Tourists Expected

Vietnam has harnessed its rich cultural resources to develop tourism, positioning it as a lucrative sector within the cultural industry. The country aims to generate 15-20% of its total tourism revenue from cultural tourism by 2030, as outlined in its tourism development strategy. To meet tourist demands, travel agencies have created appealing and high-quality tourism products that highlight cultural, culinary, and scenic aspects of various destinations. Not to mention, dreamy beachside holidays at Anantara Quy Nhon Villas and many other beach resorts in Vietnam.

One such destination is the central province of Quang Nam, home to the UNESCO World Heritage sites of Hoi An and My Son Sanctuary. Hoi An was recognized as Asia’s Leading Cultural City Destination by the World Travel Awards in 2022, validating the city’s focus on culture as a driving force for socio-economic development. In 2023, Quang Nam province plans to attract and welcome international tourists by developing new tourism products rooted in national cultural values and local natural resources. This approach reflects Vietnam’s commitment to leveraging its cultural “gold mine” to enhance its tourism industry.
