A key initiative for tourism, the VisitOman.om website was launched this year by the nation’s executive tourism development arm, OMRAN or Oman Tourism Development Company. The site was the Sultanate’s first authorised national online booking and information gateway focusing on the travel trade sector. In July this year, as part of its first phase, registrations were open for travel trade partners in foreign markets.
This online portal will provide a live booking engine that travellers can use to plan and book all aspects of their holiday; this includes flights, hotels, transfers, excursions, packages, tours and more. It will also serve several objectives including positioning Oman to global markets as a growing tourism destination and boosting inbound tourism. The country continues to be a popular tourist destination in the region with travellers looking to stay at the best hotels in Oman; this includes properties like Al Falaj Hotel that have adopted enhanced hygiene and health measures ensuring guest safety too.
