Last month saw the launching of the ‘Walk In’ Creative Art Space in Oman’s capital, Muscat, which is expected to help boost tourism and showcase the nation’s artistic talents to the world. The opening ceremony took place on 24th January 2023 at the Oman Convention and Exhibition Centre (OCEC) within easy reach of Seeb-based hotels in Muscat; these include properties like Avani Muscat Hotel & Suites from which one can head to OCEC to visit this permanent platform for displaying works by Omani artists.
At present, this space is home to over 30 specially curated works from well-known names such as Anwar Sonya, Hassan Meer, Mazin al Harthi, Budoor al Riyami, Nada al Masoudi and Alia al Farsi. The opening of the ‘Walk In’ Creative Art Space is also in line with the ‘Creatourism’ initiative of the OMRAN Group (Oman Tourism Development Company) which seeks to promote the nation’s art, heritage and culture.
