The Resort Municipality of Whistler and the official website of Whistler tourism have reminded their visitors that even though they may be on holiday, COVID-19 is not. They encouraged everyone who is visiting many a Whistler hotel to take proper precautions to stay safe from the prevailing pandemic. To date, many measures were implemented throughout Whistler properties such as Pan Pacific Whistler Mountainside; these measures came in the form of hand sanitisation stations, signage, divided walkways, and encouragement to wear face masks when it isn’t possible to maintain physical distance.
Whistler’s mayor has announced that although he is quite happy to have visitors back, his priority remains the safety and well-being of the municipality. He also emphasised the importance of making the safety measures visible for customers, which leads to building confidence that the town is taking the threat of the corona pandemic quite seriously.
