World Tourism Day was celebrated across the globe on the 27th of September this year, and Oman too celebrated this day with the Ministry of Heritage and Tourism. To commemorate the day, Oman organised the 2nd meeting with youth teams for travel and tourism offices. The main focus of this gathering was the safety and security of adventure-based tourist activities.
The Tourism Minister, Salim Mohammed al Mahrouqi also attended the event. During the event, Oman emphasised the initiative of setting up adventure tourism trips for tourists with a knack for exploring and thrills. Tourism companies are to adhere to the security and safety stated in the Ministerial Decision in this directive. Keeping standards should also be a priority. Electronic systems that enable travellers to make requests for adventure travel were also launched during the event. Hotels in Oman such as properties by Oman Hotels which offer adventure activities will also benefit from the new initiative.
