WTTC Gives Safe Travels Stamp to Sri Lanka

A Needed Boost to Tourism

Last month, the World Travel and Tourism Council or WTTC gave Sri Lanka a Safe Travels stamp which will no doubt be a key factor in boosting the tourism industry; it is an indicator for tourists that a particular destination is safe to travel to and is following strict measures to deal with COVID-19. Gaining this mark of confidence is due to the stringent standards adopted by the Sri Lanka Tourism Development Authority (SLTDA) as well as the safety and health protocols enforced by the government.

The Safe Travels stamp will also provide travellers with a chance to determine which businesses and properties are keeping to the recommended hygiene and health guidelines and procedures. With its many attractions and accommodation options be it Kandy bungalows or Pasikuda hotels the likes of Maalu Maalu Resort & Spa, Sri Lanka will hope to soon welcome foreign tourists again.
