Anantara Si Kao Joins the Plastic Straw Ban to Protect the Nature – Say NO to Plastic!

Did you know that an estimated 8 – 11 million tons of plastic is being thrown into the ocean every year? Anantara Si Kao Resort, which is one of the leading hotels in Krabi together with the rest of the Anantara and AVANI properties in the Asian region have initiated a program to eliminate the use of plastic straws throughout the area.

All the hotels in Asia will be using recyclable and biodegradable alternatives and eliminating 2.5 million straws as a natural step to achieving sustainability goals of Minor Hotel Group. The decision was made in December 2017 and came into effect in all Asian properties on the 1st of January 2018. Minor Hotel Group is making a significant step in removing the volume of plastic that damages our wildlife and environment.
