Groundbreaking Ceremony Marks Start of Construction in Maldives – New Mega Project Begins

Recent reports revealed that the government of Maldives has launched a significant project that involves the construction of a multi-island leisure and recreation destination. Joining other prominent figures at the official groundbreaking ceremony of Maldives’ next mega project, Minister of Tourism, Mr. Moosa Zameer stated that this development would further enhance the reputation of the country as one of the world’s top tourist destinations. With the potential improvement in the number of tourist visits, this mega construction is expected to increase business opportunities for the existing hospitality providers, be it a lavish hotel or a Maldives luxury resort including names such as COMO Cocoa Island, Maldives. In addition to the construction of three islands along with a Township, phase one of the Emboodhoo Lagoon project is estimated at a cost of US$ 311.5 million. The report further revealed that the project would create over 5,000 opportunities in the job market upon completion.
