Il Mare Receives Third Wine Spectator Award of Excellence – Taking Pride in this Prestigious Award!
The world’s top wine authority, Wine Spectator recently awarded the Award of Excellence 2018 to Il Mare Restaurant. This Italian restaurant is the only restaurant that features 155 fine wines in Sri Lanka. It is part of the hotel Anantara Peace Haven Tangalle Resort and sits on an ocean cliff. Il Mare Restaurant offers a roomy deck overlooking the sea and a stylish dining room that gives out the air of typical Italian fine dining!
The scrumptious delights are prepared by Chef Valentino Chirico and his wonderful team. Chef Valentino is one who prefers to stick to the traditional method of Italian cooking which means that pasta here is handmade and some of the ingredients are even taken fresh off the hotel’s organic garden! The General Manager of the resort, Ross Sanders exclaimed that they couldn’t be prouder of Il Mare as it receives the Award of Excellence for the 3rd year in a row! He also says that the award brings in more recognition to the restaurant and it truly is an honour to receive it. Il Mare, without doubt, is one of the best Italian restaurants in Tangalle.
