New Runway at Male International Airport on Course to Open in 2019 Innovation is power!

As a part of the largest expansion and development project undertaken at the main airport in Maldives, the new run away will be opened for operations in 2019. According to the Maldives Airport Company Ltd (MACL), a test flight has landed on the strip on 18th September 2018. The main aim of building this new run away is to boost safety, service and capacity levels. The majority of the construction work of the runaway has been completed except for the navigation light system, levelling and the development of the taxiway. Velana International Airport is connected to many major airports in the world serving as the key gateway to lure tourists all around the world into the island paradise. It is in close proximity to some of the leading hotels, Maldives 5 star hotels the likes of Amaya Kuda Rah Maldives and the island’s most famed attractions.
