Sinhala and Tamil New Year Celebrations in Sri Lanka – A Most Joyous Time To Visit

For the people of Sri Lanka, the island nation of many wonders, New Year falls on the month of April, with the coming of spring. This is because according to Astrology, a belief that is practised very strongly in the country; the year begins when the sun moves from the Meena Rashiya (House of Pisces) to the Mesha Rashiya (House of Aries).
