Thailand Approves New Airports to Serve Even more Travellers – Thai Government’s Measures to Accommodate more Tourists!

With the rising tourist footfall in Thailand, The Authority of Airports of Thailand has decided to construct two new Airports at two of the most popular tourist destinations in Thailand namely Chiang Mai and Phuket. Even though the decision taken by the authorities facilitates the country’s economy and it is good news for luxury hotels and resorts the likes of Anantara Hotels, Resorts & Spas and many other accommodation options in Thailand, it has raised concerns among environmentalists.

Two of these destinations where the new airports are to be constructed already have an Airport apiece, but with the increasing number of tourists, the authorities are left with no option despite building two new airports. It has been estimated that it will cost approximately 60 billion Thai baht to construct each new airport and the construction is expected to commence in 2019.
