UAE Public Holidays 2018 Announced by Abu Dhabi Government – Important Dates and Occasions

The Government of Abu Dhabi released the official list of public holidays pertaining to Islamic occasions for the year 2018 recently. The dates are determined by the phases of the moon therefore the specific dates of the events may vary from each Gregorian year to the next.

Ramadan which is known as the holiest month in the calendar of Islam is slated to begin from 16th of May 2018, while Eid Al Fitr, a three-day feast will be celebrated from June 14th to the 16th. The ensuing Haji season is set to begin on the 12 the of August. The holy period will see the UAE filled with believers who will stop over on the way to Mecca, for the pilgrimage.
