2015 Chinese New Year In Bangkok

Chinese New Year is one of the biggest events in Thailand when most of the cities look as if they are painted in red with so many red colored decorations adorning streets, shops and houses. If you happen to be spending your holiday in Thailand this February 19th at one of the luxury Chiang Rai hotels like the renowned Anantara Golden Triangle Elephant Camp & Resort, you will be able to join in the merriment and celebrations of this wondrous festival.

Known also as the Lunar New Year as the Chinese calendar is lunisolar, the Chinese New Year is traditionally a time to honor deities as well as ancestors. Festivities are held all day with lion dancers, drummers marching through streets. Expect to see red paper lanterns, Chinese calligraphy banners, and posters everywhere. At night you will be mesmerized by the spectacular displays of fireworks that light the Thai skies.
