23rd Annual International Mango Festival – A Fruity Fiesta in Florida

A fruity festival that featured delectable mango varieties from around the world, the 23rd Annual International Mango Festival took place this July in Florida, USA. The event was held from 11th to 12th July, 2015 at the Fairchild Tropical Botanic Garden which is home to an impressive collection of almost 600 mango varieties that have been cultivated here. The theme for this year’s Annual International Mango Festival was “Mangos of Jamaica” that gave visitors a chance to learn more about the country’s tropical fruit varieties including mangos named ‘Blackie’, ‘Bombay’, ‘Julie’ and ‘East Indian’. Featuring mangoes native to other parts of the world as well including Florida, Trinidad, India and Panama, the festival also hosted a wide range of events and activities such as mango tasting, mango artwork, a display of the world’s biggest mango collection, cooking demonstrations, lectures & workshops on cultivating this tropical fruit at home and a special mango auction.
