According to estimates recently put out by the Tourism Council of Thailand (TCT), 2016 could see a little over 33 million tourists from abroad visiting Thailand. This is an increase of around 13% from the number of tourists who arrived in 2015. Parallel to this forecasted increase is the expected income from the tourism industry which is projected at 1.75 trillion baht, an almost 21% increase from 2015. One of the most popular destinations in the country is the capital and travellers will find both hotels and serviced apartments in Bangkok which to choose from such as Anantara Baan Rajprasong Bangkok Serviced Suites. According to these new estimates, the first quarter of 2016 is also expected to yield an increase in international arrivals with numbers expected to total almost 9 million. The Tourism Council of Thailand has also made recommendations to the government to promote tourism domestically, while facilities at typically tourist destinations were seen as needing improvement as well.
