Goethe Institute in Sri Lanka, the official cultural centre for everything German took Sri Lankans on a digital concert experience on Sunday, 21st of August 2022. With the convenient traveling option from the Colombo Katunayake Highway, guests staying at Negombo beach hotels could reach their destination to catch a glimpse of this show in approximately one hour. The event offered an open invitation for guests at Colombo hotels as well for those at nearby lodgings like Club Hotel Dolphin as well as for the citizens of the country that appreciate the magic of music.
The digital concert which was held at the Goethe Institute Sri Lanka from 5.00 p.m. to 7.00 p.m. was a massive success owing to a global-level performance of Mahler’s 1st Symphony conducted by Gustavo Dudamel with the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra. This historical piece of music was composed back in the 1800s, followed by some major revisions that were added towards the end of the century. The concert was screened in 4K resolution and included a short introduction by Lakshman Joseph-de Saram.
