According to numbers put out by the tourism ministry of Thailand this September, the country saw a 5.6% increase in foreign tourist arrivals in August when compared to the same period last year. Additionally, it was also noted that the 3.41 million arrivals during this month led to them spending US$5.55 billion which was also an increase (7.12%) on a year-on-year comparison.
From the tourist arrivals, the largest source of visitors was from China which saw a huge 15.6% increase over last year’s figures in August. In fact, arrivals from China have been on the increase and will no doubt contribute to helping Thailand reach its desired goal of 40 million visitors this year. The country continues to be a top destination and offers diverse accommodation options be it at beachside Bophut resorts the likes of Anantara Bophut Koh Samui Resort or city hotels in the capital Bangkok.
