As mentioned last month in an online article published by The Washington Post, international airports are having to come up with stringent protocols and procedures when it comes to screening for COVID-19. As borders and airline routes begin to slowly reopen across the world, this has become vitally important and includes testing travellers as soon as they arrive.
The article highlighted certain global airports such as Hong Kong International Airport which are leading the way in adopting and implementing such testing for incoming international passengers. This popular airport which is within easy reach of 4 star hotels in Hong Kong including properties such as Park Hotel Hong Kong, tests all asymptomatic travellers entering the country. Other airline hubs that were singled out for their procedures included the Narita and Haneda airports in Tokyo, the Tegel Airport in Berlin and the Istanbul Airport in Turkey.
