An inspiring visual journey, the “Soul of a Nation” showcases a sensitively compiled collection of African American artwork produced during the tumultuous period between 1963 and 1983. A reminder of a dark phase of world history, the exhibition commenced on the 12th of July and is scheduled to be held until the 22nd of October. Featuring such works as the ritualistic collages of Romare Bearden, the exhibition is being hosted at the Tate Modern, London. Those interested in witnessing this impressive collection of masterpieces can consider accommodation at a Belgravia hotel in London located close to the venue such as COMO The Halkin, London. The exhibition also displays the compilation of work produced by a collective of black artists named “Spiral” that was formed during the civil rights movement in the USA. The event celebrates the renowned work of the sensual photography of Roy DeCarava, the stained teardrop frames of Sam Gilliam and the work of Barkley L Hendricks, the famous sardonic portraitist.
