The 2017 Hotelier Pool Competition was held in September, at the AVANI Pattaya Resort & Spa, and according to sources, it was a huge success. The final game was between Viriya Khamdeeton of Mecure Hotel and Surachet Thongjit of AVANI.
This took place on the 28th of September and after a battle that kept people on the edge of their seats, Viriya won the championship scoring 5-2. Of all the Pattaya things to do, playing pool has now gained popularity after this event and local hotels are being encouraged to host more of such events. Viriya Khamdeeton took 8,000 baht of prize money back home while the runner-up, Surachet Thongjit bagged 5,000 baht. The prizes were given out by the advisor of the F&B Association Pattaya, Somkiet Darunaitorn.
