The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) kicked off Nihao Month with a grand celebration called Amazing Thailand Mid-Autumn Night at Bangkok’s Siam Paragon. The event aims to strengthen Thailand-China relations through a series of festivities. Key attendees included Thailand’s Minister of Tourism, Sorawong Thienthong, Minister Wu Zhiwu from the Chinese Embassy in Thailand, and TAT Governor Thapanee Kiatphaibool. The night was marked by captivating cultural performances highlighting the deep-rooted ties between the two nations.
This event is part of a larger campaign leading up to a year-long celebration in 2025, which will mark 50 years of diplomatic relations between Thailand and China. Upcoming activities include joint promotions with China’s top travel platforms, exclusive deals for Chinese passport holders, and two Thailand-China friendship caravans. The initiative is expected to draw around 250,000 Chinese visitors during Golden Week in October, while generating 500 million online engagements, possibly indicating increased bookings at places like the Anantara Hua Hin Resort, an example of fine Hua Hin luxury hotels.
