A Spectacular Celebration on the Water
Thailand is preparing to celebrate the annual festival of Loy Krathong in Bangkok this November, when the city’s rivers, lakes and canals will be illuminated by thousands of lotus-shaped krathongs decorated with candles, incense and flowers. One of Thailand’s most anticipated cultural events, the festival attracts both local and international visitors who gather to pay respects to the goddess of water and enjoy the traditional celebrations. Those staying at nearby Fraser Suites Sukhumvit can conveniently travel to many of the capital’s popular festival venues via the nearby Nana BTS and Sukhumvit MRT stations.
As recently reported by local tourism authorities, the festival, which falls on the full moon night of the 12th lunar month, is expected to attract both local and international visitors. Amidst Bangkok’s booming bleisure culture, business travellers have the opportunity to extend their stay and experience one of Thailand’s most celebrated cultural festivals.
