Six members including Abir Abdullah, an award-winning photographer of the Bangladesh Travel Writers Association toured Sri Lanka amid an economic crisis in the country. As reported on The Business Standard news website on the 23rd of April 2022, the tour was organized by the Bangladesh Travel Writers Association, in partnership with the Ministry of Tourism of Sri Lanka and Sri Lankan Airlines. At a time when hotels in Bentota, Kandy, Colombo, Negombo, and many other areas are facing a major fall in tourist arrivals, every little contribution and tour counts.
Therefore, the tour was a blessing in disguise for many hotels in the industry like Avani Bentota to create assurance for potential travelers on their arrival to Sri Lanka. The tour for the writers included visits to Nuwara Eliya, Kandy, Sigiriya, and Galle, where they captured picturesque sites, moments, and sceneries that were encountered throughout the stay.
