Thailand has been updating its entry requirements for foreign tourists in the last few months making it easier to travel while providing a boost to the local tourism industry. One of the major changes to the protocols that came into effect on 1st May this year was the doing away with on-arrival COVID-19 testing and brief quarantine for fully vaccinated travellers. Such tourists can now enjoy hassle-free access to much-loved island destinations like Koh Samui; luxury hotel options here that are SHA Plus+ certified such as SAii Koh Samui Choengmon ensure safe stays too with strict hygiene and sanitisation measures being adopted.
Tourists who are not fully vaccinated or who have received part of the vaccination can also forgo on-arrival quarantine and testing; however, to do this, when completing the mandatory Thailand Pass (https://tp.consular.go.th/) online, they must also upload a negative result of a professional ATK or RT-PCR test conducted within 72 hours before arrival.
