Community Homestay Fair Held in Phuket Town – Promoting Local Communities

The Indonesia Malaysia Thailand Growth Triangle Homestay Fair 2016, took place at Limelight Avenue in Phuket Town from September 20th – 22nd this year. The vision behind the event was to enhance and promote local community and culture.

Throughout the fair, tourism representatives from 14 different provinces were given an opportunity to represent their local community and discuss their own ideas of their homestay tourism activities.

The numerous homestay communities are all good examples of the continuance of local culture and traditions.

A community homestay is a manner through which visitors can live within a local community during their holiday, so as to be able to truly engage in the local lifestyle, culture and traditions. There are still many 5 star resorts in Phuket for those looking for a more pampering vacation, one such example being the Anantara Mai Khao Phuket Villas.
