This month saw the successful completion of the Dhiraagu Maldives Road Race, an annual event that brings local communities together to run for a worthy social cause; this year it was held under the theme of protecting the rights of children. The race took place on 20th September 2019 at Hulhumalé; this reclaimed island is located near the capital Malé and is within easy reach for those staying at a luxury hotel Maldives has to offer including properties like Velassaru Maldives.
Inaugurated in 2007, the Dhiraagu Maldives Road Race featured 10 km and 5 km races in several categories for males and females; apart from an open category, the races also had an above 45 years category as well as categories for school children, namely under 13 years and above 13 years.
