Organised by the Fishermans Association, the Feast of the Drunken Dragon is one of the most unusual festivals celebrated here in Macau. The festival is expected to take place between April and May of this year and the procession will begin at Hong Kung Temple. The festivities commemorate a mythical episode when a giant serpent rescued the villagers from an outbreak of the plague. A dance featuring large wooden dragon heads will be performed depicting this. Over the years, the festival has attracted many locals and nonlocals alike. Thus if you’re in search of a Galaxy hotel within close proximity of the event do consider the Galaxy Macau Hotel Resort as an ideal base.
