In a boost for the local tourism industry, the Republic of Mauritius announced in September this year that French nationals residing in Reunion could visit this destination without a passport. This only applies to those arriving here on a holiday up to 30th June 2023 and such travellers must present a valid French identity card to receive “entry clearance”. Other conditions include that these tourists must spend a minimum of two nights in Mauritius and have confirmed accommodation and return air tickets.
Adding to the allure of this island is that at the 2022 World Travel Awards held on 15th October 2022, it picked up key awards in categories for the Indian Ocean region. It was announced as the winner of the Indian Ocean’s leading sustainable tourism destination, leading wedding destination and leading adventure tourism destination. Travellers can look to choose from some of the best resorts in Mauritius including properties like The Residence Mauritius and experience the very best this destination has to offer.
