The whole of Thailand is in mourning after the death of one of its greatest rulers – His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej. The country was shaken by his death on 13th October, 2016. The ninth monarch of Thailand, His Majesty was conferred with the title in 1987 and was much loved by his country men and women. Taking the massive response from the general public, the Bureau of the Royal Household has mentioned that it would declare a 100 day mourning period for which the general public can offer their condolences.

His Majesty’s passing has shook the entire general public with every Bangkok city guide, tabloid, media channel, newspaper and social-media site paying respect to the late ruler. Even leading capital city hotels such as Anantara Siam Bangkok Hotel have been quick to show their deep sympathy and respect during this time.
