For many years now, the red light district and the go-go bars it houses have been the major attraction for the Thai tourism industry. With more Koh Samui spa, resort, and luxury hotels in the area, the country has seen more female visitors last year than any year before that. The authorities in Thailand definitely see this as good news, as the “sex capital” of the world image can finally be erased if the booms in female visitors continue for the next few years. The country has many things to do and see, apart from its red light areas; like its gorgeous beaches, temples and vast shopping malls, and hotels like Anantara Lawana Koh Samui Resort are within travelling distance to most of these places. Tourism makes up about 12% of Southeast Asia’s economy and this news has been seen as a much awaited beginning in a turn for the better.
