Hari Raya Galungan

Galungan is perhaps one of the most important festivals in Bali. Commemorating the triumph of good over evil is the spiritual foundation of this rite. The locals believe that it is during this holy time that their ancestral spirits visit the earth and therefore delights such as rice cakes are made and kept as offerings to them. The streets are ornamented with decor made of bamboo and has always been a delightful time for travellers.
