The annual Hong Kong International Film Festival (HKIFF) is currently underway showcasing more than 230 titles from 63 regions and countries. The festival was launched on 18th March with the world premiere of Finnish director Renny Harlin’s Chinese language crime thriller, Bodies at Rest. The Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre near Lan Kwai Fong Hotel @ Kau U Fong is one venue where screenings will be held; other venues within easy reach of such hotels in Hong Kong Island Central include Hong Kong City Hall and the Hong Kong Cultural Centre.
Held under the theme “Colours in the Dark”, the 43rd edition of HKIFF will feature directors, actors, screenwriters and others from the film industry including big names of Asian cinema. The festival will close on 1st April with the Asian premiere of French director François Ozon’s, By the Grace of God which was the Grand Jury Prize winner at this year’s Berlin International Film Festival.
