Hong Kong Shifts from a Zero COVID Policy to Open Its Borders

As Hong Kong followed strict border rules with the surge of global COVID-19 cases, the 1st of April 2022 marked a day that the country finally eased in and accepted that the pandemic is no better in their homeland than it was in the 9 banned countries. The ease in restrictions can finally occupy an empty restaurant in Wan Chai and hotels that have been longing for tourists like Cosmo Hotel Wan Chai Hong Kong to get back on track.

Hongkongers that were stranded overseas in countries like the UK, Canada, France, Australia, Pakistan, India, Nepal, the Philippines and the USA are now free to return to their home country following a 7-day quarantine period and a negative PCR for fully vaccinated individuals. Furthermore, students longing to resume their education physically were finally able to travel to schools on the 19th of April, as schools reopened for face-to-face classes.
