Prasanna Ranatunga, the Tourism Minister of Sri Lanka, recently declared that a special fund of Rs. 162 million will be allocated for the development of railway stations and historic forts of the country. Under this program, railway stations located in Bandarawela, Nanu Oya, Negombo, Kandy, Bentota, and Kalutara will be considered. 62 million LKR will be reserved for this, where they will work towards developing the infrastructure facilities (seating and restrooms) mainly.
