In terms of tourist expenditure, Indonesian travellers allocated approximately 17% of their budget to food and beverages, 12.44% to shopping, and 5.4% to souvenirs in 2021. Conversely, foreign tourists spent the most on culinary experiences, accounting for 21.94% of their budget, followed by shopping at 10% and souvenirs at 3.2%, according to the ministry.
