Bangladesh celebrated International Yoga Day on the 21st of June very enthusiastically despite strict Coronavirus lockdown methods. The Indian High Commission was able to hold several virtual workshops all across the city when usually they would have had it at convention centres and hotels in Dhaka.
The High Commissioner welcomed viewers through the live online Yoga sessions that people were able to connect to from anywhere in Bangladesh, both locals in their homes and tourists in hotels such as Pan Pacific Sonargaon Dhaka. Riva Ganguly Das, the High Commissioner said that Yoga was an ancient art that was responsible for a lot of boosting immunity, strength and mental stability and that they were proud that it has become a global phenomenon. The Bangladeshi chapter of the Art of Living Foundation held various programmes online until the 24th of June.
