Iron Man 70.3, the first-ever triathlon in Sri Lanka, was held in late February. The event took place on 25th of February 2018 at Galle Face Green, Colombo, which is a glistening ocean city in Sri Lanka. Both local and foreign triathletes representing 60 countries took part in this action-packed event. Tourists stayed at many Colombo luxury hotels located close to the venue such as Residence by Uga Escapes which is 15 minutes away from the venue.
The 90km bike course was a spectacular event since the competitors were taken through the Port of Colombo leaving many memories to cherish. In addition, there was a 1.9km ocean swim and a spectator friendly 21.1km running event. Foreign triathletes were impressed with the soothing tropical weather and the warm hospitality of Sri Lankans. Spectators got an opportunity to meet the inspiring athletes and be motivated by their stories.
