The ‘bio bubble’ concept initiated by Sri Lanka Tourism to attract visitors to the country once more has been recognised by ITB Berlin; this was put in the spotlight in April 2021 on the Ada Derana news website. Amongst the world’s largest trade shows, International Trade Tourismus-Börse Berlin or ITB Berlin ran from 9th to 12th March 2021 on a virtual platform this year with Sri Lanka participating as well.
In the ITB Berlin e-Magazine, this Indian Ocean nation was highlighted for its innovative bio bubble measures which not only encouraged travellers to visit but provided a safe and secure environment for them too. In April this year, existing bio bubble requirements were further relaxed for travellers who had received the full COVID-19 vaccination. Those who arrive have much to look forward to, be it south coast beaches or wildlife safaris at Wilpattu National Park; hotels as well as luxury campsites like Leopard Safaris Wilpattu provide an ideal base from which to enjoy such experiences.
