Sri Lanka has seen a steady influx of tourists this year which has coincided with the launch of several new airline routes that are providing greater access to this enchanting island nation. One of the latest of these was the launch of five-weekly return services by low-fare airline, Jetstar Asia, connecting Singapore to the country’s commercial capital, Colombo.
The flights which commenced in November 2024, were on Airbus A320 aircraft and provided those travelling from Singapore including via connections from Perth or Melbourne, easy access to Sri Lanka. The island continues to draw holidaymakers from around the world with the sun-kissed south coast and hotels in Ahungalla being a popular draw. The new flights will no doubt bring in more tourists looking to enjoy fun in the sun, sand and surf and properties here beside the ocean such as Heritance Ahungalla will remain a top choice.
