Sri Lanka has made a major show at the World Travel Market (WTM) 2024 with a record participation of over 100 tourism industry service providers, including destinations and partners. The event, having taken place from November 5-7 at the ExCeL London Exhibition Centre, was led by the Sri Lanka Tourism Promotion Bureau (SLTPB). The Sri Lanka pavilion was designed to provide simplified access to services and information, facilitating both personal meetings with tourists and B2B interactions for travel enterprises.
Having aimed to enhance its positioning as a market for UK and European travellers, the UK is now Sri Lanka’s second-largest market, and officials believed that WTM 2024 will further strengthen these numbers. The World Travel Market, Europe’s premier tourism promotion event, attracted over 50,000 visitors and provided Sri Lanka with a popular platform to display travel and tourism potential through Polonnaruwa hotels such as the Hotel Sudu Araliya.
