Providing local audiences a unique opportunity to witness one of the most popular English musicals, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat Coat was brought to life on stage by the English Literary and Drama Society (ELDS) of leading Colombo school, St. Peter’s College. Based on the original musical by famed Andrew Lloyd Webber with lyrics penned by Tim Rice, this production took place from 25th to 29th January, 2017 at the Lionel Wendt Art Centre. This venue has become the mainstay when it comes to hosting English language drama and plays and those in search of apartments in Colombo that are within easy reach of Lionel Wendt can consider One Galle Face. Brought about by the combined efforts of both ELDS and the Really Useful Group, the musical was directed by Jehan Bastians, Charith De Silva and Neidra Williams. It featured both present and past pupils of St. Peter’s College as well as special invitees from other local schools who played the female roles.
